As part of the Fairfield community of military veteran writers, I’be been privileged to have workshops and mentoring from Phil Klay. A Marine Corps veteran, Phil was awarded the 2016 National Book Award for his short story collection Redeployment. Phil Klay is now a Professor at Fairfield. In this video, he discusses the importance of giving veterans a voice. I nod along in the background.
